Watchet – miasto portowe w Wielkiej Brytanii, w Anglii w hrabstwie Somerset, położone nad Kanałem Bristolskim, przy ujściu rzeki Washford do Zatoki Bridgwaterskiej, 24 km na zachód od Bridgwater.
Pierwsze wzmianki o mieście pochodzą z VII wieku, monety bite w tym mieście znajdowano nawet w Skandynawii. Jest jednym z niewielu miast w Wielkiej Brytanii, które pielęgnuje system sądownictwa dworskiego (ang. court leet). Używa się go tylko do celów reprezentacyjnych, nie ma znaczenia merytorycznego. W mieście znajduje się stacja zabytkowej kolei West Somerset Railway[1].

The statue of the Ancient Mariner at Watchet, Somerset, England. The statue was unveiled in September 2003, as a tribute to Samuel Taylor Coleridge. The sculptor was Alan B Herriot of Penicuik, Scotland. Coleridge lived in the nearby village of Nether Stowey, about 10 miles from this statue. In 1797, while on a walking tour, Coleridge visited Watchet. On seeing the harbour, it is believed he was inspired to compose The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Relevant extract from poem: Ah ! well a-day ! what evil looks
