The last Torana, the UC was built from March 1978-Sept 1980 A fill in before the new Commodore was released, the UC got a more modern looking front (rectangular headlights again) and a new dash. With the UC there were no SL/R performance models or any V8s at all in this model. Hatchbacks were still available until 1979, leaving only sedans for 1980. The only model was the SL, a Deluxe pack was available, which gave it a laminated windscreen, tinted windows, intermittent wipers, radio/cassette player, cloth trim, sports instrumentation, and bumper overriders. The 4 cylinder 1900cc Sunbird was also still available, the UC Sunbird expanded into three trim levels: base (manual only), SL, and SL/E.
