Fog is not very common in the area of Minnesota that I live. I mainly use the fog lights on my cars to flash other drivers to let them know that their fog lights are on when it is not foggy. I believe it is inconsiderate to have the additional lights on when there is no need for them. The added light creates more contrast between the dark surroundings and the oncoming lights or in the rear view mirrors.
