Always had a bit of a soft spot for these even though they dont have the best reputation around. These were probably one of the first 'hit' models for AMG, before that they dabbled with some other Mercedes models in low volume, but they weren't really that well known until the W210 and suddenly everyone knew AMG.
Incidently, it was this car (ok more like the E50), and the supercharged V8 in the new Jaguar XJR that basically forced BMW to make the E39 M5, otherwise they were going to leave it at the 540i.
