Harry Lillis "Bing" Crosby was born May 3, 1903 in Tacoma, Washington. From from 1934 to 1954 he was a leader in record sales, radio ratings, and motion picture grosses, becoming one of the best-selling recording artists of the 20th century. He won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the 1944 film Going My Way, received the first Grammy Global Achievement Award in 1963, and has three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Wilma Wyatt was born November 4, 1911 in Harriman, Tennessee, and adopted the professional name Dixie Carroll (later Dixie Lee, by which she is most widely remembered) as a singer and showgirl.
Crosby and Wyatt married in 1930 and had four sons. Wilma died from ovarian cancer on November 1, 1952 in Los Angeles, California at age 40. Bing remarried in 1957, to actress Kathryn Grant, and the couple had three children.
