Opis:
Surviving footage of The Vamp, Theda Bara, from Cleopatra. The film is considered lost as no known complete negatives or prints of it survive. Check your basements, attics, and sheds!

The movie was based on H. Rider Haggard's novel and the plays by Émile Moreau, Victorien Sardou, and William Shakespeare. Theda Bara starred in the title role, Fritz Leiber, Sr. as Julius Caesar, and Thurston Hall played Mark Antony.

After the Hays Code was implemented in Hollywood, Cleopatra was judged too obscene to be shown. The last two prints known to exist were destroyed in fires at the Fox studios in 1937 (along with the majority of Bara's other films for Fox) and at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

The film contains the largest number of costume changes by one performer (50) in any silent film. Coincidentally, the largest number of costume changes by a single performer in any film was Elizabeth Taylor 's 65 in Cleopatra .
