Disputed photograph of Crazy Horse, 1877, a cropped version from the original tintype. The tintype is currently displayed at the Custer Battle Museum in Montana. It was widely believed that no photos were taken of Crazy Horse until this one was published in the book With Crook at the Rosebud (1956). However, its authenticity is questioned for several reasons, most importantly because Crazy Horse opposed being photographed.
