East Tilbury: St Catherine's Church. The Thurrock Council website http://www.thurrock-community.org.uk/council/touristinfo/content.php?page=aboutthurrock describes this church as possibly being on the site of one of the first Christian monasteries in the 7th century. It has a half-built tower constructed by the First World War Garrison of the nearby Coalhouse Fort.
