Photo of Ed Gardner as Archie from the radio program Duffy's Tavern and Ransom Sherman, host of the radio program Nit Wit Court. As in television, radio programs took a summer hiatus, but instead of repeating previous episodes, the shows were replaced by others for the summer period. Early television also followed this pattern with summer replacement shows instead of rebroadcasts. Sherman was to be the host of the radio program that would temporarily replace Duffy's Tavern for the summer.
