Escudo del Estado Anzoategui

Fue decretado por el ejecutivo regional el 9 de septiembre de 1933 de acuerdo a la Ley de Escudo, Sello e Himno del estado Anzoátegui de 1876.

El escudo está dividido en dos cuarteles con los colores rojo y azul.

• El cuartel superior rojo contiene una fortaleza, que representa la Casa Fuerte de Barcelona, sobre la que se alza el ave fénix, símbolo de Venezuela, resurgiendo de las cenizas de la guerra. En ambos lados de la fortaleza, los eslabones de unas cadenas rotas simbolizan la independencia de España y la abolición de la esclavitud.
• El cuartel inferior azul muestra a un toro al trote hacia su derecha. Este animal representa la riqueza agropecuaria del Estado.

Las figuras exteriores del escudo son las siguientes:

• Detrás del escudo, está un sol naciente que muestra un rostro por encima del escudo, simboliza la situación de la entidad en territorio oriental. Los rayos de este sol salen hacia los lados del escudo de forma circular, y los mismos representan los municipios en los que estaba dividido el Estado.
• Detrás del escudo, pero delante del sol, se entrecruzan dos cañones de bronce, a los lados dos ramas de laurel. Estos simbolizan las glorias de los nacidos en el Estado durante la guerra de independencia.
• En la base del escudo, una cinta une los dos cañones. En esta, la inscripción «Tumba de sus tiranos» conmemora la Batalla de Urica, librada en el Estado y en la que murió el realista José Tomás Boves.

• Industrial Property Law, on December 10, 1956, Chapter IV, Article 33, n° 2:

The work has been liberated of any type of copyright and cannot be patented because it represents a flag, a coat of arms or another ensign of the Republic, of the States or of the Municipalities and, in general, of any Venezuelan entity of public character;

Warning — it is necessary consider the following: The national flag and the Coat of Arms of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela are the symbols of said nation, and so must be respected by the Venezuelan people, and by the citizens of other countries. Its use can't be the target of insults, fouls, disparagement or discrimination. The good faith of its use is presumed.

• Law on Copyright of 14 August 1993, Articles 4, 25, 26, 27, 28, 38 and 59:

The texts of laws, decrees, official regulations, public treaties, judicial decisions and other official acts shall not be protected by this Law.
The right of exploitation of a created audiovisual work, a broadcast work or a computer program by the author and his/her successors expires after 60 years, counted from 1 January of the year following from the first publication. Copyright shall subsist for the lifetime of the author and shall expire after 60 years counted from 1 January of the year following his death, including the copyright in works not disclosed in his lifetime.

It is a collaborative work, and sixty years have passed counting from 1 January of the year following that of the death of the last surviving coauthor.

The copyrights of a photographer and his/her successors become extinct sixty years from the first publication of the work.

Sixty years have passed since the work's completion and it was not published or registered during this period. The time referred to for purposes of copyright is counted from 1 January of the year following the publication or, failing that, the completion.

It is an anonymous or pseudonymous work, and sixty years have passed from the first publication or the completion of the work.

It is a photo made by a professional photographer, and it was a an object where ownership transferred during a labor relationship or professional contract and the employer or contractor liberated it.

It is an edition of a work of others or of texts that represent the result of scientific work, and fifteen years have passed since the publication of the work or the preparation of the work (whichever comes first). This does not affect the period of copyright of the original work.

It is an image recorded on audiovisual tape, and equivalent conditions to copyright of photographs have been met, insofar as they do not themselves constitute audiovisual works.
