Opis:

Fritillaria falcata. This rare serpentine-loving species is seen here on Cedar Mountain ("Rancho Repose") in California's Alameda County, on April 10th 1993. Note that one of the six anthers seems to be missing and another has dehisced. This species, at least in its northern form, has broader leaver than the form of the otherwise rather similar Frilillaria pinetorum that occurs on Mount Pinos much further south.
