university church St. Pauli
Erected as church of the Dominican
monastery, it was since 1543
property of the university. It
survived all wars undamaged.

This arbitrary act
was not prevented by
municipal councillors
nor by the Leipzig
University—
They did not resist the pressure
of a dictatorial regime
