Animation of Flight 801 descent - The animation shows the airplane on approach to runway 06L, descending to impact on Nimitz Hill approximately 3.5 nautical miles from the runway. Time is displayed as Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Altitude was derived from the flight data recorder and is displayed in feet above mean sea level. Text from the cockpit voice recorder transcript is displayed in an abbreviated format above the airplane.
