Lieutenant Wittmann, a member of a German squadron, probably Bayrische Flieger Abteilung 287 (Bavarian Flying Section 287), stands in front of an LVG C.V at Malmaison airfield near Laon. The serial number CV1026 is painted on the tail of the aircraft. Note the tent hangars in the background.
