Opis:

The blind cave beetle Leptodirus hochenwartii (fam. Leiodidae) from a cave in the Inner Carniola region, Slovenia (more precise locality not given due to conservational concerns); the animal is around 1 cm long
The bright colors are partly due to the flash; under natural light, the colors are much less obvious. When the flash fires, the head and the thorax appear reddish due to reflection (its exoskeleton is very thin and almost translucent).
