Lot-801-27: Guadalcanal Campaign, 7 August 1942 – February 9 1943. “Torpedo That Failed”. This huge Japanese torpedo, Type 93 (long lance), fired from a submarine, failed to hit its mark. It plunged harmlessly ashore on the beach of Guadalcanal. U.S. Navy photograph. Photographed through Mylar sleeve. (2015/11/06).
