Queen's Service Medal (Public Service) (QSM) awarded to Anthony James Clarkson for Public Service in 1976 sterling silver medal, 36mm diameter, with ribbon obverse- crowned head of Queen Elizabeth II facing right inside inscription- ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F.D. reverse- New Zealand coat of arms inside inscription- THE QUEEN'S Service MEDAL, with name of sub-division PUBLIC SERVICE rim- engraved with initials and surname of recipient- A.J.CLARKSON ribbon- red, white and black grosgrain ribbon with Māori Poutama motif of black, white and red diagonal 'steps' (signifying steps of service) at centre with red stripes on either side
