Miðvágur is one of three larger villages on the island Vágar in the Faroe Islands. The village lies next to and just west of Sandavágur. Vágur means bay, Miðvágur is the bay in the middle, meaning between Sandavágur to the east and Sørvágur to the west. The festival Vestanstevna was on this day 9 July 2011. It is held every third year in Miðvágur, every third year in Sandavágur (2012) and every third year in Sørvágur (2010 and again in 2013). The football field is next to the beach.
