Opis:

Russian 76 mm mountain gun Model 1909, displayed in Finnish Artillery Museum. Museum description: A 76,2 mm modification of a French Schneider-system mountain gun 75 m.p.c. 4 from year 1909. (3-dm gornaja skorostrelnaja pushka obr. 1909 g. Schneider-Danglis 06/09) The gun has a barrel designed by Greek Colonel Danglis. The barrel can be broken into two components. The parts of the gun can be broken into seven mule loads. The 75 mm version of this gun has been in service in Greece, Bolivia and Peru. In Russia a bit renewed version was used as late as WW II. Only a small portion of the guns has been manufactured in France, most of them in Russia. Russian troops had these mountain guns at their disposal in Finland. In the 1918 War of Independence they were used by both Red and White artilleries. As a war bounty Finnish troops had a total of 11 pieces of 76 mm Mountain Guns, which were used as training pieces up to the year 1924. In the Winter War in 1939-1940 the six worn-out guns were not in use anymore. In 1941 14 more pieces were captured by Finnish troops. This particular piece had its gun-carriage repaired by the Finnish State Gun Factory or VTT in 1942 and 1944. Replacable barrel: manufactured by Russian Putilov in 1914.
