Opis:

Postscript of a report on Western medicine compiled by the Japanese Confucian scholar Mukai Genshō in 1657 based on instructions given to him at the Dutch trading post Dejima (Nagasaki) by the German surgeon Hans Juriaen Hancke. The original report was repeatedly copied during the 17th and 18th century. This is a copy made by the physician Kawashima Ryōan during the 1660s. The postscript explains the background, gives the Names of Hancke and Mukai (including the locus sigilli) together with the names of the interpreters who had to verify the report.
