Recade (o makpo) bird-headed
- A Recade is a scepter of the ancient kingdom of Dahomey, shaped stick or ax. This is one of the symbols of authority of the sovereign, also a staff of command given to the courier to the recipient to ensure the authenticity of the royal message. The term is derived from the Portuguese recado meaning "message" or "Mandat".
