The German Imperial Navy Königsberg-class cruiser SMS Nürnberg. She was commissioned in 1908 and sunk at the Battle of the Falkland Islands on 8 December 1914. Despite the title on the original image at the LoC, this is not the "SMS Nürnberg". This is an image of the "SMS Königsberg". Note the coat of arms at the bows - the crest of the city of Königsberg, as here: http://www.ngw.nl/int/rus/k/kalining.htm
