WMP Ministry/August.49,A45aDamodar Valley Project (West Bengal and Bihar) is one of the most important shemes which are being executed by the Central Waterpower, Irrigation and Navigation Commission – India’s National agency, for the multipurpose utilization of water resources. Sand-stowing head is a Jharia Colliery. Sand is received at this end through a ropeway from the Damodar river-bed and blown into the mine-shafts and tunnels.
