Prince Arisugawa Taruhito grants Sano Tsunetami the permission to create the Philantropic Society (Hakuaisha) in 1877. This organization became the Japanese Red Cross Society in 1887, with Sano as its first president. Japanese pre World War I postcard published by the Japanese Red Cross Society.
