British Pattern 1821 cavalry officers sword and scabbard, circa 1850; used at Gate Pa by Captain EG Norris, Waikato Militia. maker- Robert Mole and Sons, Birmingham engraved blade; fish skin grips; scabbard of silver metal with two loose rings; good condition markings- ordnance inspection marks on blade; swordmakers proof; military acceptance markings; "(crown) - B - 3" measurements- scabbard- 840mm; hilt- 130mm NOTE- previously identified as a Pattern 1850 Artillery sword
