SOUTH CHINA SEA (Oct. 8, 2011) The guided-missile destroyer USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108) is underway in the South China Sea as part of the George Washington Carrier Strike Group. I feel comfortable leaving any task for his completion. He constantly mentors junior Sailors in learning new skillsets that are needed to complete tasks within workspaces. He routinely challenges his shipmates to work outside their respective comfort zones re-inforcing their existing skillsets. This encourages study on their own time. PO Watterworth has volunteered to help maintain respay records ensuring his shipmates are paid on time. He has also volunteered to assume the duties of the Berthing Petty Officer. He has a perfect record. As Command Career Counselor he ensures that his shipmates have taken advancements exams and enrolled in web-based training on their own time, assisted with orders, among other things.
