Tupolev Tu-128 ‘0 red’ (38798117954)
c/n 71281. NATO codename:- Fiddler The Tu-128 was a twin-engined supersonic interceptor with a maximum speed of nearly 1,200mph. It first flew in 1961 and the type was finally retired in 1990. It competed against the La-250, an example of which is also on display at Monino. A total of 198 were built. Although known now by the Tupolev designation of Tu-128, it's Soviet Air Force designation was originally 'Tu-28'. This was officially changed to Tu-128 in 1963. This is the prototype aircraft and was originally coded '0 black' before being given a red bort code (like many other aircraft at here). On display at the Central Air Force museum, Monino, Moscow Oblast, Russia.
