Il est entouré du lac Kivu, la ville de Goma et la ville rwandaise de Gisenyi au Sud, par le volcan Nyamuragira au Nord- Ouest et par les volcans Karisimbi et Mikeno à l’est. Goma, Nord Kivu, RD Congo, January 2015 – A view of the Nyiragongo Volcano. Mount Nyiragongo’s first recorded eruption was in 1884 and its latest in 2002. It is surrounded by the town of Goma, Lake Kivu and the Rwandan town Gisenyi to the south, the Nyamuragira Volcano to the northwest and the Karisimbi and Mikeno volcanoes to the east.
