Christian, Lady Cavendish, Later Countess of Devonshire, and Her Daughter

Lady Cavendish is shown with her daughter Anne, but the little girl is not the only one of Christian's children in the painting. At the time of the portrait, Lady Cavendish was pregnant with her third child, a son to be named Charles, after his godfather, Charles I of England.
