The Volkswagen Lavida, launched in 2008, was the first VW to be locally developed in China and ended quite some years since its launch as the best-selling vehicle. The Lavida, manufactured by Shanghai Volkswagen, shares its platform with the Chinese Volkswagen Bora by FAW Volkswagen. It was heavily restyled in 2012 and was facelifted again in 2015. This year cumulative sales of the Lavida will surpass three million sales.
