St.Oswald's church, Howell, Lincs. A tiny hamlet with a wonderful and lovingly cared for church, full of history. A Norman south door with mass dial in the tympanum leads to a nave of one aisle with Norman arcade of c1200, Perpendicular font and some ancient monuments. Two particularly appealing features are the tiny, but perfect lancet in the west wall of the aisle and the 14th century monument to an unknown mother and daughter, both shown praying under trefoil arches.
